Yes. Wool is naturally resilient. With normal use and occasional fluffing, the structure remains supportive. There is no hidden foam that slowly collapses.

Foam ages quickly, cannot be properly repaired, and is difficult to recycle.
The IDA chair is built around material intelligence instead. Comfort is created through form, folding and placement.

It is warm and tactile, not itchy. The upholstery options are selected for skin contact. As with all natural materials, the experience is richer than synthetic alternatives.

Yes. The chair supports multiple postures, from upright reading to relaxed lounging. The folding method creates natural zones that adapt to how you sit. The wider and deeper the seat, the more passive and reclined the posture becomes, allowing the body to gradually let go.

To create the right seating support, the wool needs to be kept under tension, similar to a tufted futon mattress. The folded form creates that tension. If the chair were unfolded, the wool would lose its resistance and become too soft to sit or lie on comfortably.
