The future of a wool sofa starts with Dutch Design

Very suitable as filling for your wool sofa.

Wool has been used for centuries to fill mattresses—and with good reason. It’s a natural material that adapts to your body, offers gentle support, and lasts for decades with proper care. That same quality makes it the perfect choice for a wool sofa.

Wool springs back into shape, creating a soft yet structured seat. It’s incredibly durable and naturally resistant to wear. But it’s not just about strength—wool is also moisture-regulating. It keeps you warm in winter, cool in summer, and always comfortable. A wool sofa made from raw Dutch wool offers a living kind of comfort: breathable, resilient, and built to last.

All natural

Wool is 100% natural material and it grows year-round. All our wool comes from Dutch sheep herds. Before we put it in our lounge chair it’s only been washed with a GOTS certified agent.

Renewable, Biodegradable & Sustainable

Wool is a renewable material – once cut it grows back naturally. At the end of its life cycle, wool completely degrades in soil, releasing important nutrients into it.

Temperature Regulative

Wool keeps you cool in the summer & warm in the winter.

Extremely Breathable

Due to the unique structure of its fibres, wool is exceptionally breathable. Each fibre can absorb and release moisture without feeling damp, which helps regulate temperature naturally. This makes wool incredibly comfortable year-round—cool and dry in summer, warm and insulating in winter. It’s a living material that responds to its environment and to you.

Diminishes odor

Most synthetic fibres trap moisture, creating a breeding ground for bacteria and unpleasant odours. Wool’s natural structure repels bacteria and keeps the surface dry, preventing the build-up of smells—without the need for chemical finishes. That’s why a wool sofa stays fresh, even with daily use.

Moisture Regulative

Through its breathability and natural ability to wick away moisture, wool regulates humidity in a way few materials can. Each fibre can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet drawing excess humidity away from the body and releasing it gradually into the air. This keeps the surface of your wool furniture dry, comfortable, and balanced in both warm and cold conditions. Wool doesn’t trap moisture, it moves with it.

Dust Mite Resistant

If there is one thing that dust mites just cannot stand, it is wool. Lanolin and the structure of the wool fibers repel them, thus making the wool filling naturally dust mite resistant.

Hypoallergenic

Dust mites are the major cause of allergy and asthma suffering. Wool is resistant to dust mites and wool bedding makes a wonderful alternative to feathers and synthetics. Suitable for people with MCS and other chemical sensitivities

Super Durable

Wool’s durability and strength come from the fact that its fibres can be bent back on themselves 20,000 times before breaking. To put this into context cotton breaks after 3,200 bends and rayon fibres only last 75 times!

Mildew Resistant, Antimicrobial & Anti-bacterial

Wool fibers have a natural water-wicking property that prevents moisture from being retained in the fabric, naturally inhibiting mildew. Wool also has natural anti-microbial properties because bacteria tend to be attracted to smooth positively charged surfaces like those of synthetic fibres rather than the scaly, neutrally charged surface of the wool fibre.

Supportive

The springy fibers of wool ensure that body weight is supported naturally and evenly, creating a firm yet responsive seat that adapts to your posture over time.

Flame Resistant

Wool is naturally flame resistant. Used in furniture items and bedding, it can provide a greater level of fire safety. Unlike nylon and polyester, wool does not flame or melt. It is the only bedding material, not required by law to be sprayed with fire retardants.
